DelDebt and Undebt.it are both debt payoff planners: you enter your debts, pick a payoff order and get a debt-free date. Undebt.it has more payoff methods, bank sync, YNAB integration, SMS reminders and bill tracking, and it has been around for years. DelDebt needs no account, keeps your data on your device, has an iOS app and can fill in a loan from a photo of your bank's schedule. Full disclosure: we make DelDebt. Everything below about Undebt.it comes from its public website as of September 23, 2026.
The short version
- Choose Undebt.it if you want the widest choice of payoff methods, automatic balance updates from your bank, a budget-app connection or text-message reminders.
- Choose DelDebt if you'd rather not create an account or connect a bank, want your data to stay on your device, or want calendar reminders that work in any calendar app.
Both let you try the core idea for free, so the easiest way to decide is to enter the same debts in each and see which one you keep opening.

Where Undebt.it is stronger
We'd rather say this plainly than have you find out later.
- More payoff methods. Undebt.it lists eight: Debt Snowball, Debt Avalanche, Debt Hybrid (a debt-to-interest ratio), Cash Flow Index, Highest Monthly Payment, Highest Credit Utilization, Highest Monthly Interest Paid and Custom. The paid tier compares them. DelDebt has five. If you want to explore every angle, Undebt.it gives you more to work with. We explain the ratio method in what is the hybrid debt payoff method.
- Bank sync. Undebt.it+ can connect your bank through SimpleFIN, so balances can update without typing. DelDebt has no bank connection: you log payments yourself.
- YNAB integration. If you budget in YNAB, Undebt.it+ syncs with it. DelDebt doesn't connect to budgeting apps.
- SMS reminders. Undebt.it+ sends text and push reminders. DelDebt reminds you in the app and through your calendar, not by text.
- Excel export. The paid tier exports to Excel, which is handy if you like to analyze your plan in a spreadsheet.
- Bill tracking and more. Undebt.it+ also tracks bills, runs what-if scenarios, shows an amortization table for each account and sends monthly emails. DelDebt only handles debts; it doesn't track bills or build a budget.
- Track record. Undebt.it's copyright notice goes back to 2012. It's a mature product with a long history.
Where DelDebt is different
- No account needed. You can open DelDebt and start planning. Without signing in, your debts are stored on your device. Signing in is optional and only syncs your plan between devices.
- An iOS app. DelDebt is on the App Store, in addition to the web version.
- Calendar reminders anywhere. DelDebt exports your payment schedule as an .ics file, which works with most calendar apps and includes reminders before each due date.
- Upload your bank's schedule. Take a screenshot, photo or PDF of your loan's payment schedule and DelDebt fills in the fields. Useful for car loans and personal loans where the exact numbers matter.
- Check against your statement. Every planner estimates interest. DelDebt lets you compare its numbers with what your lender actually charged and calibrate the calculation, so the plan stays close to reality.
- Tracking built for staying on course. You log payments, see your progress and keep a streak of months without a missed payment. A real-life adjusted plan shows your timeline if you pay less extra in expensive months, such as vacations and the holidays. Our debt payoff tracker page shows how progress tracking works.
DelDebt's five methods cover the common cases. Its blizzard method pays the smallest debt first for a quick win, then switches to highest APR first. Its cash flow method pays the debt with the largest minimum payment first, similar in spirit to Undebt.it's Highest Monthly Payment. The custom order lets you reproduce other rules, such as a debt-to-interest ratio, by hand.

Try the free calculators first
If you just want to compare methods on your numbers before choosing a tool, the calculators on this site run in your browser with no account. The debt avalanche calculator and the debt snowball calculator both show your debt-free date, total interest, the order your debts get paid off and a comparison of four methods, with a month-by-month table you can download as CSV. Undebt.it also has a free calculator that works without an account.
